Drake Maverick Professional wrestling career
Curtin signed with WWE in October 2017, but had to postpone his debut until his US work visa was renewed. On January 30, 2018, episode 205 Live, he made his debut under the stage name Drake Maverick and was named the brand’s new General Manager. In his first appearance, he scheduled a 16-man WWE Cruiserweight Championship that would culminate at WrestleMania 34.On the September 3 episode of Raw, Maverick accompanied the AOP tag team (Akam and Rezar) as their new manager, so they turned on their heels.
On the November 5 episode of Raw, Maverick led AOP to their first reign as Raw Tag Team Champions. At the Survivor Series pay-per-view event, Maverick was in the corner of the AOP for their match against The Bar (Cesaro and Sheamus), threatened by The Bar partner Big Show, Maverick getting wet his pants, distracting The Bar long enough to give AOP the win.
On the December 10 episode of Raw, AOP lost the championship to Bobby Roode and Chad Gable in a three-on-two handicap, also featuring Maverick.
